Peningkatan Efisiensi Pembelajaran melalui Pemanfaatan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) bagi Guru di SMP N 1 Tegallalang

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence provided opportunities for teachers to improve efficiency in preparing learning materials, instructional media, and assessment activities. However, several teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Tegallalang had not fully understood the practical use of artificial intelligence, particularly in constructing instructions, generating learning content, and verifying the accuracy of generated outputs. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ understanding and skills in using artificial intelligence as a supporting technology for learning. The activity was conducted through a participatory approach consisting of needs identification, planning, material delivery, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and assistance during the training. The materials covered basic concepts of artificial intelligence, prompt construction, the use of ChatGPT, interactive quiz development through Quizizz, and image creation using artificial intelligence-based image generators. The results, which were observed through practical activities, discussions, and documentation, showed that participants were able to construct more specific prompts, generate drafts of learning materials and questions, create interactive quizzes, and produce supporting illustrations. Participants also understood that artificial intelligence outputs needed to be verified, edited, and adjusted before being used in learning activities. The activity provided an initial impact by strengthening teachers’ practical experience, digital skills, and awareness of the critical, ethical, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in education.
